As its production and use increased, public response was mixed. At the same time that DDT was hailed as part of the "world of tomorrow," concerns were expressed about its potential to kill harmless and beneficial insects (particularly pollinators ), birds, fish, and eventually humans. The issue of toxicity was complicated, partly because DDT's effects varied from species to species, and partly because consecutive exposures could accumulate, causing damage comparable to large doses. A number of states attempted to regulate DDT. In the 1950s the federal government began tightening regulations governing its use. These events received little attention. Women like Dorothy Colson and Mamie Ella Plyler of Claxton, Georgia gathered evidence about DDT's effects and wrote to the Georgia Department of Public Health, the National Health Council in New York City, and other organizations.
Finasteride was the first 5-ARI to be introduced for medical use. It was marketed for the treatment of BPH in 1992 and was subsequently approved for the treatment of pattern hair loss in 1997. Epristeride was the second 5-ARI to be introduced and was marketed for the treatment of BPH in China in 2000. Dutasteride was approved for the treatment of BPH in 2001 and was subsequently approved for pattern hair loss in South Korea in 2009 and in Japan in 2015. The patent protection on finasteride and dutasteride has expired and both drugs are available as generic medications .
As for bodybuilders, Stanozolol has one interesting peculiarity demanded among them. It consists in the profound ability to lower sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) level resulting in efficiency growing of other steroids in stack with it. In particular, it raises the amount of biologically active free testosterone circulating in the blood. For this reason it is advisable always to use Stanozolol in stack with testosterone. Another one reason for this is as follows: Winstrol may be more prone than other anabolic steroids to increasing tendon brittleness. This happens due to Winstrol`s possibility to dry out the joint fluid, which can lead to joint pain and damages. Also both Stanozolol forms: tablets and injections have been noted to provoke adverse changes in cholesterol levels. Hence, monitoring of the lipid profile of the body (blood works) during cycle is advisable.
